can i safely have some champagne when one is on Parnate?I was one of the UNlucky few who experienced the dreaded MAOI hypertensive crisis. I have tried many medicines for depression but none worked like Parnate does. I take 3 tablets a day (10 mgs.) a day. Now, having swelling and weight gain. wanted me to change. I really did have to watch myself. That has passed. They tried other antidepressants on me and as a last resort gave me Parnate. and works well for depression. Nothing else (tricyclics, SSRIs) has anything like it efficacy. I feel much happier w/this than every ssri I took. Parnate kicks ass. I've taken them all, and this one is in a different category. Have tried everything. Worked like a charm. I will never forget my initial response to the medication. But I take propanalol for that. Due to a severe depression, I had to take this drug. The drug that was prescribed to me was parnate. It was at that time when I started taking in parnate. It has been a year already when I first took the drug.
